COVID-19: UAE suspends all inbound and outbound flights, transits for two weeks
The United Arab Emirates will suspend all inbound and outbound passenger flights and the transit of airline passengers in the UAE for two weeks to curb the spread of COVID-19.
State news agency WAM said on Sunday (Mar 22) the decision will take effect 48 hours later.
The Civil Aviation Authority said cargo and emergency evacuation flights will be exempt.
"Additional examination and isolation arrangements will be taken later should flights resume in order to ensure the safety of passengers, air crews, and airport personnel and their protection from infection risks," WAM quoted the CAA as saying.
On the same day, UAE authorities also said they will shutter malls and shopping centres for a renewable two-week period.
