Dubai free zone JAFZA introduces on-demand warehouses for ‘post-pandemic trading world’

Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) has introduced on-demand warehouses on short-term leases with multi-functional storage options it says are designed as a solution for a “post-pandemic trading world”, the Dubai Media Office said on Wednesday (June 24).

JAFZA is boosting the new service with incentives.

The facilities, ranging from 300 square metres to 15,000 square metres, will not be charged value-added tax (VAT) or customs duties, and they will benefit from free water and electricity as well.

They follow the 70% reduction in registration, licensing and administrative fees announced in mid-March.

JAFZA is the flagship free zone under DP World, that says on its website the area contributes 23.8% to Dubai’s GDP and generated $93 billion in trade in 2018.

The free zone runs alongside Jebel Ali Port, the region’s largest deep sea port.
