France’s Musée du Louvre will exhibit works from its collection at Iran's National Museum in Tehran, Yannick Lintz, director of the French institution's Islamic Art department told Salaam Gateway.
The exhibition is scheduled to open before the next Persian New Year Nowruz that starts around March 21, according to Lintz who is one of the project's curators.Â
Citing Iran's Director of Museums and Historical Properties Office, state news agency IRNA reported last week the exhibition will run for four months and show pieces from the Louvre related to Egyptian and Ancient Greek civilisations as well as some artworks from France.
This will be the first time the French institution will exhibit any works from its collections in Tehran.
