UK-based HalalBooking.com, the search and booking website for halal travel, has moved its headquarters to bigger premises at the Thames Valley Business Park in Reading-upon-Thames to accommodate expansion and continuous recruitment of talent, the company told Salaam Gateway.
"Due to exponential 2-3 times per year growth in recent years, it was time to make a strategic decision on the main staffing head office," said Ufuk Secgin, the company's Chief Marketing Officer.
HalalBooking.com's senior management was previously based in smaller premises in Reading. The company still has staff in its Birmingham and London offices but the new Thames Valley Business Park premises now serves as its main base.
"If we compare the old office and new office in Reading, it is 2-3 times bigger, but the building has a room for expansion so as we hire more people we will be hiring more and more space. The long-term expansion is multi-fold," said Secgin.
The company received Series A funding of $1 million at $30 million valuation last year and is expecting another round of funding this year. "It is likely that the company will be a target in 2016 for another VC investment round – Series B round this time – for a much bigger investment and at higher evaluation than 2015," Secgin told Salaam Gateway.
It is working towards a $1 billion IPO by 2018.
HalalBooking.com currently employs just under 40 employees. It has staff in eight other countries outside of its base in the UK.
