Nippon Express Indonesian subsidiary receives halal certification for logistics center

The Indonesian subsidiary of Japan’s Nippon Express has received halal certification from LPPOM-MUI for one of its logistics centers.

PT NEX Logistics Indonesia said in a statement on Wednesday (September 2) its Bekasi Logistics Center is the second of its facilities to get the certification, after Deltamas Logistics Center.

The Bekasi Logistics Center holds frozen, refrigerated, and room temperature spaces within warehouses.

NEX Logistics is one of three companies under Nippon Express to obtain halal certification in Indonesia, said the company. The other two are PT Nippon Express Indonesia, that received halal certification in April 2018 for transport/storage for air cargo forwarding, and PT Nittsu Lemo Indonesia that in June 2018 was certified for its transport/storage for ocean cargo forwarding.

Nippon Express first received halal certification in 2014 from JAKIM in Malaysia for transportation under Malaysian Standard (MS) 2400-1. In 2017 it received halal certification for a warehouse under MS2400-2.

Three of the company’s facilities in Japan are also halal-certified, by the Japan Halal Association, according to its corporate website.
