Oman: More businesses to open from Wednesday
Published 23 Jun,2020 via Muscat Daily - The Supreme Committee tasked with tackling the developments resulting from the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic met on Tuesday and decided to reopen a new package of 56 commercial and industrial activities starting from June 24.
These include shopping malls, laundries, tailor shops, the fish markets at Muttrah, Seeb, Sohar, Suwaiq, Quriyat, Ashkara, and Ibri, advertising and media establishments, and travel an tours outlets. The competent authorities will also announce details and the health requirements necessary to practise them.
The meeting was headed by H E Hammoud bin Faisal al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, in the presence of all members of the committee, to follow up on the developments of the pandemic, prevention measures, and ways to avoid its spread.
The Supreme Committee stressed the need for all to follow precautionary measures issued by the competent authorities and for each individual to be responsible for protecting himself, his family and society from infection of the coronavirus.
List of commercial and industrial activities to be opened under the fourth package:
1. Malls and commercial complexes
2 Fish markets: Muttrah, Sohar, Suwaiq, Seeb, Quriyat, Ashkhara and Ibri.
3 Selling of fabrics and textiles
4 Shops selling dyes and polishing materials
5 Shops selling and repairing conventional weapons
6 Manpower offices
7 Offices for installing cameras and protection systems
8 Shops selling plastic and paper wastes
9 Pottery and handicrafts
10 Stores selling used spare parts
11 Selling doors and windows
12 Showrooms selling all kinds of kitchenware
13 Selling and maintaining elevators and escalators
14 Building and construction contracting offices
15 Selling artificial accessories and ornaments
16 Trade of blankets and sheets
17 Sale of wooden and iron boxes
18 Shops and factories selling charcoal and wood fuel
19 Iron and aluminum products shops
20 Real estate brokerage offices
21 Furniture upholstery
22 Blacksmith accessories and aluminum sheets
23 Sale of audio tapes
24 Renting and selling wedding dresses and accessories
