She’s helped raise more than $100 mln: ‘Invest in the right mindset’ – Amany Killawi, Co-founder, LaunchGood

The crowdfunding platform LaunchGood has helped around 15,000 campaigns raise more than $100 million worldwide. Amany Killawi is one of the co-founders of the Muslim-focused site.
“I studied social work and I was inspired to give back in some shape or form,” said Amany, who co-founded LaunchGood in 2013 with Chris Blauvelt and Omar E. Hamid.
“LaunchGood for us was a breath of fresh air, to be able to build a platform and through each campaign we can tell a story and it becomes this global storybook of projects all across the world,” said the COO.
When the co-founders started LaunchGood, they held on to the belief that the platform could show the world that Muslims have incredible values to share. They set out, as they say, to “build an inspired future”.
“As a Muslim community we spend so much time telling people what we’re not that we couldn’t just show them who we are,” said Amany.
