UAE shutters malls, shopping centres for ‘two renewable weeks’ to curb COVID-19 spread
The United Arab Emirates will close all commercial centres, shopping malls, and fish, meat and vegetables markets for a renewable period of two weeks.
State news agency WAM said on Sunday (Mar 22) that the decision will come into effect 48 hours after and is subject to review and re-assessment.
The closure excludes essential services such as pharmacies and food retail outlets, including supermarkets and wholesalers of fish, meat and vegetables.
Dine-in services are suspended at restaurants but food home deliveries are allowed.
